One solution might be to establish a trust, so that part of your investments can be outside your estate and therefore not subject to the 40% Inheritance Tax. Many of our clients are able to make gifts using the annual capital exemption, currently £3,000 per annum. There are many Inheritance Tax Plans which can mitigate Inheritance Tax liability on death.
